Am I the only one really, really, really hoping that the Moyle's breakfast show is a complete and utter flop. I would just love to see that fat lump of lard sacked following appauling figures. "Saviour of Radio 1". My arse.

I love the show. Always listen to it, have for years. I think he is the saviour of radio 1, at least he's entertaining, compared to some of the other Radio 1 DJ's
He's unique in that he isn't a classic "Dr Fox" or "Tony Blackburn" DJ - very much kind of personality based programming, but he appreciates good radio and knows what the listeners want rather than just being a TV presenter that is shoved on radio because they think it's clever.
He really is rather good - certainly the only good thing about Radio 1...and worked his away up from ILR as well.
Loved the song about all the DJs - that really was a class act. And he's not a bad singer is he!?

Yeah, just listened to that bit on the music 4 website and it actually made me feel sorry that I missed the start this morning. Just like the good old days with Simon Mayo etc. Now that
was
National Radio 1 - in that the whole nation listened!
Don't really like him (bit loud) but you're right in that he knows about radio and cares about it as a completely different medium to television.

Personally I think he is a bit too egotistic. Of course, imagine the fun journalists would have on those showbiz columns/red top tabloids should he fail in his quest to save the exodus of listeners of Radio 1 to other stations.
I used to listen to his show most days during the summer, although I did find certain parts entertaining, his ego got the better of him sometimes. However I hate James Stannage even more, which probably tells you what I think about motormouth radio presenters.
Time will tell whether he is the "saviour of Radio 1" that he has proclaimed for so long. However I will miss his morning show as I am usually sitting on a train/station platform waiting for some severely delayed train to turn up.
Yeah, National Radio One has been creeping in over the past few months, as have the "BBC" references in jingles (although they have been isolated at the end rather than straight "BBC Radio One" as Newsbeat have today).
Also by the end of Sara Cox's show today they seemed to have gone back to the old intro bed at the start of Newsbeat but the rest of it with the new music. Hmm.
On another note how bad was Coxy's show...it kind of worked when you were half asleep but now it's just embarrassing
There are a number of versions of the new Newsbeat stuff - some have the BBC some don't, also various versions of the bed.
I prefered Chris Moyles in the afternoon, especially as you could listen to the rest of the show after work.
I dont have time in the morning, and that "link" game they do is now at 9am (so I'll never hear it again!)

As for Coxey..... morning or afternoon ------->
Remember though, you can listen to the whole show at any time of the day at radio 1 on-line
The new Newsbeat jingles are pretty snazzy and modern. Much better than the original corporate one introduced this time last year which sounded far too serious for Radio 1.
