The old breakfillers weren't fixed length either. They all lasted as long as they wanted (within reason), the only timing necessity is for it to be in 30 second sections to allow for cleanish opt-in and out points for local advertising.
Previously it was 30 seconds of weather, news, sport etc with a visual and music stab at the end of each, very similar now: 14ish seconds of information, 14ish seconds of trail, then a sting. If all the ads around the world are in multiples of 30 seconds and they play out OK, they should hit the breakfiller for the end of the sting

Only glitch I have noticed is that the breakfiller countdown sometimes starts at 6 mins plus and cuts off before it reaches zero. I am watching it now for the 0800 headlines, it started at around 06:03 and cut off at 04:58 before going in to HSBC Local Knowledge. Then it was a 22 second countdown and headlines with Martine Dennis.
That isn't a glitch. The breakfiller is what the Pres gallery at World plays out during breaks, but regional operators may opt out and in again to display regional advertisements.
Ah, but normally they will opt out at the beginning and then opt back when they've run out of break , so the countdown should always finish at 0:00. The above sounds like a fault
Yes.. I'm startled by how nobody seems to think it's very disappointing that the music doesn't work with the pictures.. it could have easily been built to 15" segments as the previous track was to 30" - it would have been so much smoother.
And.. similarly nobody seems to be commenting on the content from a "user" point of view.. it just seems very cluttered & messy and whilst the content may be useful, it's not very "usable" due to the way it's presented.
Wow! Looks good. This is probably a signal of some new changes to world soon, like the change to come with BBC News. Damn, when will it be available in US!
"Just a Moment" was the name of a series of fillers used for break-filling in the Europe, Asia-Pacific and Sout Asia regions on BBC World in completely unsold breaks so that the viewer didn't see the standard breakfiller for the whole break. They are no longer used since the new style of presentation was launched. Generally they were repackaged reports and items from "The Weather Show" - a programme which was shown on BBC ONE just before the One O Clock News until about 1998ish (can anyone remember the actual date?)

Great music by the way. The new graphics used are also better than the old one....
The new break filler is also designed to be updated very quickly - say when there is big breaking news. AFAIK they're known as 'dynamic' break fillers. I've just been in Europe and I have to say that the channel was selling so many adverts that I hardly saw any of the break filler - just a few seconds at the beginning or the end - but then I was watching around WBR and Sport Today when they probably have more sponsorship stuff as well.
