Noticed since Monday, the 'LW' is in the old position on screen (higher) and the strap remains the newer, lower position - doesn't look great.

The 'LW' is back in its newer position, as of today.

There's also a new 'wipe' transition that was used at the end of the rundown of topics at the start of the show, linking from a full studio shot to a shot of the anchor (today: Andrea).

EDIT: The 'wipe' transition occurs at 1:20

They've done a good job of shoe-horning in the theme now. The opening runs far better this week than last. Although notice Sitting Duck got the credit at the end of today's show.

Whilst I like the old theme and don't mind it's return, I don't think there was anything wrong with the more recent theme which has been in use for the last couple of years.

I wonder what has actually provoked them to revert to the old one again?

Audience feedback or just aiming to recreate an era that has already passed? Whatever it may be, I don't consider either of the theme tunes to be a reason for an audience to choose to watch or not watch LW.

Its probably down to the director or editor's preference. The fact that there are daily tweaks at the moment suggests to me they are possibly trying new things out for a new look.

Further changes to the show - but this time, behind the scenes and this is via the closing credits today.

Sally Shelford has left the role as Editor; Emma Morris - deputy editor - is credited as Acting Editor
Isabel Buxton - who is Features Producer - has become acting Deputy Editor.

Thought that'd be worth bringing up.

I think it's a remix.

The fact that ITV using music from different shows mean ITV are running out of money.

What complete and utter bull! Did you pluck that assumption from thin air?

Laughable. Rolling Eyes
