'Live Talk' predated 'Loose Women' didn't it? It had another name before it stuck on LW

Apparently it started off as Loose, then rebranded as the newsier Live Talk for two series, then relaunched as Loose again.

Correct, Live talk was in the mornings around 09.25. around 2000/01?

Live Talk was never on at 9.25am (I'm pretty sure of this, although I'll be happy to be proved wrong). Live Talk was on after the Lunchtime News as I remember it.

It could have been a series of Loose Women Im sure something was moved to 09.25 slot, never lasted long.

Wasn't it Trisha that was in the 9.25am slot before Jerry Springer and Jeremy Kyle?

They moved the daytime schedules around in early 2000, Jerry Springer was on at 9.25am, then Live Talk at 10.00am, with Trisha being moved to the 2.15pm-or so slot, it didn't last very long like that IIRC.

Its hard to believe now how popular Jerry Springer was back in the late 1990's/early 2000s, some regions gave his show a run in the Summer of 1998 in the 9.25am slot, then the year after with it appearing after Home & Away at lunchtime, certainly so in the Granada region.

It's hard to believe how much US TV there was on '1-4' TV compared to now. When I was little BBC Two had Oprah, Channel 4 had Ricki Lake and Montel Williams. We had stuff like The New Adventures of Superman on BBC One, can't remember a US drama being in such a prominent position on the BBC for a long time. I seem to recall some kind of US blind date aimed at youth audience on Sunday mornings on BBC Two and Bill Cosby fronted gameshow in the daytime on Channel 4.

A lot of that stuff wouldn't appear even on the multi-channels these days and I guess started to end up at places like Living in the late 90s.

It's hard to think if Ellen was around in the 1990's it wouldn't have been on one the main channels.

That's impossible, as Springer's show was an hour long,

Depend which Jerry Springer. Jerry Springer US episodes were only between 40 and 45 minutes in length whilsy Jerry Springer UK episodes were 60 minutes in length.

I always thought Live Talk only last one series and was shown in the 5pm slot.

They were cut down rather heavily IIRC, but even at 'full length', Springer was usually only 45-50 minutes long on ITV.

Thank you for the information, thus I have found it, 27 March - 20 April

09.25 Jerry Springer
10.00 loses woman

After that point Jerry went back to 40min slot at 2pm. To be fair ITV would have edited the episodes, taking out the extra ad break jcts, promos for companies etc and also removing a few "not suitable" British daytime scenes

Live talk did have two series: both at 2pm

S1: 25 September 2000 - Friday, 22 December 2000
S2: 19 March, 2001 - 8 June 2001

The Jerry Springer show went out at 2pm - 2,40 between Live/loses shows. During one summer Loses woman went out at 11.30, with This morning at 10.30, I think that was 2004? In 2004 or 05 Loses woman did short lived 5pm slot with male co host.

This may be a surprise but The Jerry Springer show is Still being made......

Congratulations to ITV getting best TV channel award. mind you does that mean STV and UTV gets its?

Didn't Loose Women and Des & Mel alternate in the 5pm slot for while?

No surprise at all to hear that NBC are still flogging Jerry Springer...

There was a Loose at 5:30 co-hosted* by Ted Robbins (a man!), can't remember if the normal format also got a run out at that time.

One of the final series of Des & Mel moved to the 5pm slot, think it might have moved back to earlier in the afternoon before it's axe though. It was a bit of a surprised when it dropped really.

*typo rectified.

Quite, if it's still making money for them. You'd have though Springer might have grown out of it by now though.

Didn't they give one of his security guards a similar show too?
