I don't think they would even consider moving Lorraine after such a long time in the same slot.

I don't think they would even consider moving Lorraine after such a long time in the same slot.

I can't see ITN being terribly pleased if the ITV Breakfast strand regularly crossed over 09:25 though. I know it's happened as a one-off every now and then but ISTR that ITN weren't pleased as that's their time to provide news coverage.

We've discussed programmes straddling across 9:25 ad nauseam, and there's nothing stopping it from happening. In fact its happened before.
The only problem would be if STV decided to run a different programme at 9:25. But I can't really see Scottish Television ditching Lorraine Kelly for their own programming.

By comparison Homes Under the Hammer airs just 80 new episodes a year despite not taking a break from the 10am slot.

Dickinson’s Real Deal has been a bit of a disaster in place of Kyle:
Real Deal: 361k, 11.1%
This Morning: 534k, 16.2%
Loose Women: 545k, 12.9%

Not only is Real Deal getting a third of what Kyle was getting, it’s dragging down the rest of the morning schedule. People seem to be switching over in the absence of Kyle and not returning to ITV. Apparently that’s one of the lowest ever ratings for This Morning. What they’ve chosen to replace Kyle with is probably the worst program they could have chosen (even if it’s very cheap to show). Something better suited to Kyle’s audience would help to retain viewers through to TM and LW. Repeats of any program will probably have a negative affect on the rest of the schedule though.
Despite the apparent complications with the 9:25 slot and logistics with the studios, I do think GMB/Lorraine would best retain the audience. However, that wouldn’t be without its problems. Until a new show can find its feet, there’s not really any solution without some disadvantages, which will be making things pretty difficult for ITV.

Judge Rinder would be a better fit in terms of the Jeremy Kyle audience demographic.
They would probably have to find something else to show at 2pm, or move the 2pm Judge Rinder to 3pm and move Real Deal to 2pm, otherwise the 2 showings would be a bit too close together in the schedule
Longer term they would probably have to find another show, for either the morning or afternoon slot, to avoid the 2 showings in one day.

The Chase repeats is surely the best way to guarantee a healthy audience, and I think there is enough of a gap between the 5pm airing and 9.25am slot to get away with it (indeed probably any afternoon show). If they moved an afternoon show I think Tenable would actually have a decent chance in the morning slot. Actually how does Tenables ratings compare to Real Deal in it's usual 3pm slot?
It would be nice actually to see a little bit of variation in daytime and have one slot in the schedule (whether 9.25am or an afternoon slot) which varied daily. It won't happen of course, but when you see the old schedules that crop up on Twitter it's quite nice to see a bit of randomness in the schedules.

Plausible, it happens semi regularly in the US (more so with individual episodes of series that ABC/CBS/Fox/NBC don't air but they turn up on Adult Swim or syndication or whatever) and stuff ITV made and then didn't air got its first showing elsewhere so there is precedent for it (that and the entire opposite, effectively burying a show and then blocking all attempts years later to dig it up again).
The question is, would any of the digital channels want to buy the show for reruns since it would be a hot potato.
