I see ITV1 are abusing the ECPs already. Films and programmes are now having whole names cut of either side when the credits 'shrink' to the side. Someone should tell them this wasn't how they were designed! If you're going to shrink, at least let it shrink to see everyone's names!!
ii - programme makers overspilling long names out of the safe area
That one I think. To be fair the times I've noticed it is when people's names are so long they don't fit in the area, and the text has to be a standard size so in a way it's ITV's fault for making the area too small.
However, there's no reason why the names can't be put on 2 lines. Stupid producers for not checking such fundamental things!
The lack of any coherent strategy regarding the Announcers is becoming more and more obvious.
For example 'Now the ITV News Headlines followed by whats happening wherever you are', harks back to the dreadful impersonal days of Leeds last year!
Still not overly impressed by the links either, they are all, with the exception of the Scottish guy, sounding incredibly bored and uninterested by the very programmes they are supposed to be promoting!
Also I found the Christmas Presentation offered by ITV to be pitiful to say the least, the promos weren't much better either, unlike BBC1, who seemed to capture the mood of the season.
I think for me, apart from the dull pointless anno's is the fact that on many occasions they actually fail to tell you anything about the programme that is coming on. They go to great pains at 5:30pm to tell you that Richard is plotting again in 2 episode of Corronation Street tonight, but then don't mention anything about the programme on now.
Ok, it was only Family Fortunes, but they do this on so many occasions. For crying out loud, some people from ITV must read this forum, we can't all be wrong you know.

It's a bit of a BBC idea that, they constantly do 'such and such is happening in Eastenders, tonight at 8 on BBC ONE'
and by the way '...Leeds last year', Leeds about 3 years ago more like

Little bird tells me that my favorite ex LWT announcer Glenn Thompsett is back on later this week Early Thursday, Late Friday, Early Saturday. Look forward to hearing him again. Might inject a bit of life into what is becoming very tedious telly. (between the progs)
Any chance we could get Banksey into the team, I used to love him on HTV a few years ago?

Thanks for the vote of confidence but I suspect that amongst those who have the power to decide I am about as welcome as a fart in a space suit.
Willing to be proved wrong due to the fact that it is now over a year since I have done any live TV continuity and the withdrawal symptoms are starting to kick in.
