ITV1 will join ITV2 soon for Goal Rush.
BTW: Does ITV Sport Channel do a simulcast of Goal Rush with ITV2?

If they did that wouldn't they have the same programme on three channels, its stupid but makes sense somehow, maybe drop it from ITV 2.
It would indeed be stupid, but they did indeed have the same programme on all three channels (the ITV Sport Channel was available free-to-air at this point); so much for providing alternatives!
I don't think ITV have quite got the hang of this multi-channel thing yet.

I've never quite understood why Sky Sports have to put the interactive service on a totally seperate channel.
For example, team X are playing team Y on Sky Sports 1.
But instead of just attaching the interactive service to Sky Sports 1, they put it on a totally seperate channel... why?
Is it some transponder issue or what?!

The trailer for Saturday night had a different endboard to the new one. It was white and yellow, like the 'This is ITV1' trailer.
I think we should take this as a strong indication that the 'white and yellow' will play a stronger part in any autumn revision of ITV1 idents than the 'wavy blue lines on grey'. Well, I certainly hope so, as the latter is dreadful (and that is only really because of the grey, if the lines were on, say, black or white I think it would look quite good).
I hope that the Carlton regions start using the same background as other new ITV1 idents, instead of not quite fitting in by insisting on using the star thingy!

I've always liked the Carlton star, although the theory behind it makes very little sense!
I don't want ITV companies to all 'fit in' with each other. The whole point of ITV was that it was the regional service - that has been totally lost now power has shifted to London.

True, but when you look at how much the world at large has changed since 1955, and when you think about the currently ongoing 'digital revolution', for one channel to have multiple identities (which in this particular case are determined by where in the UK you are) is not an ideal situation these days.
It was the right thing for ITV to do when it started in 1955, but perhaps is no longer appropriate. The fact that regionality it seen as an INTEGERAL element of what the channel is all about (as opposed to a COSMETIC and therefore easily disposable element) is irrelevent. In order to compete with the multitude of rival channels, it has top move with the times - and if that maeans dropping regionality in favour of a single UK-wide on-screen identity (i.e. ITV1) then so be it.
