Yeah, I don't think that's likely at all - a massive waste of money if they did.
In 2020 are we going to revert back to the 2013-2018 idents once again,

Not a fan of that. The programme names are all different sizes of text and the screen seems too busy. I am trying to like this but I really can't enjoy it. It's a step backwards from what we had. Changing the idents and keeping the surrounding presentation would have worked much better. The original end boards from 2013 looked better than the current ones do.

The text sizing in the menu really bothered me. GMB and Jeremy Kyle sizing was perfect, then This Morning was massive, and Loose Women was slightly smaller but still big. Why were they so different? If all the text was same size as the GMB wording it would have looked better.

Sadly, inconsistency seems to be the order of the day with this new set. Especially galling since ITV were, in my opinion, the channel with by far the nicest, and most consistent branding in 2013.
I quickly mocked up a few examples of how the 2013 promo endboard would look with the amended three-segment logo.

I am, of course, more than slightly biased since I created these, but I think they're far and away superior to the inconsistent mish-mash that's been unveiled today.
I think they had it right in 2013, and none of the changes made since have been improvements.
It does put me in mind of the old saying: if it ain't broke...

I believe ITV use Clarity for their Navigation graphics, so there must have been a rule applied to the template make sure the text doesn't go past a certain point. (i.e. if the total number of characters exceed 11, shrink to this 'size')

I know they weren’t too popular here but after a number of years of the 2013 endboards I also liked the clean and fresh 2017 large font endboards.
They must have struck a chord as slightly afterwards BBC One increased their font size

If that's the case how come 'This Morning' goes nearly to the edge while Jeremy Kyle Show barely goes past the light grey part?
If there is a template its not working well.

I'm in agreement that they've lost some consistency. Five years ago the entire family had a unified, solid brand. What they've now done has muddied the water.
The idents themselves are great but they just don't fit in at all with the rest of the package.

Although to be fair, the idents themselves don't necessarily have to fit in with the OSP.
If there is a template its not working well.
Yeah, it does look a bit dodge. I remember when they introduced the 2013 package the long programme names kept to the edge of the screen on the ECP/ Full Frame Menus, but they managed to correct it.

I get that. But it does seem a downgrade from such a strong identity 5 years ago.

I love the music. Idents look great too. The surrounding presentation - I’m in two minds. It looks alright, I’m just not convinced it’s an improvement. It’s not what I expected.
