I noticed since ‘lockdown2’ ended they now have more contributors in the studio, Ben & Charlotte plus Sean at the 6am news desk, Laura, Richard and Hilary in their ‘areas’ just after half six today. I assume newsreader now stays throughout the show to read headlines.
I still think it’s a little weird that they sort of removed people and now brought them back but actually there’s been little change to work advice or social distancing requirements.

They've got travel and behind the scenes arrangements to consider. Obviously a choice though by GMB as this time around This Morning continued to have contributers in the studio, unlike the first lockdown.

I think the restriction covering non-essential travel, and working from home if at all possible, were probably the reasons they reduced the studio contributors during England's Lockdown 2.

I wonder what GMB will be like on Christmas Day since it’s a news programme. obviously this morning and Lorraine can adapt quite easily but what will GMB actually cover, it can’t be news if it’s being filmed now.

I'm half-expecting them to do something similar to the Today Show in the U.S., where they'll have a pre-recorded programme with live news bulletins inserted.

They did have a pre-recorded show ' live from Television Centre' last year for the first show back after Christmas Day as it was a Friday, which was the 'Best of 2019' and I don't believe it featured any news, perhaps they may go along the lines of that, with more new interviews.

It'll just be a feel good Christmas Day show - and this year I think keeping news on Christmas Day to the absolute minimum is a must. There is just no need for it - there is nothing that can happen on the day that we can't wait another day to hear.

That’s tempting fate…

I agree , it would have to be something really major to happen on Christmas Day for it to be breaking news I think.

Completely agree - I'm fairly sure that there's been an ITV News bulletin on Christmas morning in the past few years (may have been at 9.25 am), so they can cut away to the presenter in the studio if a very major story did happen to break.

Interesting to see that the same room in the same building has been referred to by two different names on this split screen.

The difference between being in ITV Studios, London and Television Centre seems to be about eight feet.

That happens quite a lot with Hillary.
It really annoys me when I see it. Surely it isn't too hard to give them the same label.
