Not everything changed, as France 2's weather bulletins are still using the same fonts as before and a jarring Météo sting that really looks dated.

France 4's presentation is on target. My favourite so far of the changes. Note the purple dot DOG is white during children's programming.

The old France 4 logo as seen on those credits just seems far more identifiable. I just can't see this look lasting anywhere near as long - I'd imagine sooner rather than later that circle will grow in size and the numeral will be placed within it.

Dual branding on NT1 as it becomes TFX tonight.

And the Olympic logo has been added to France 2, it was much larger before next to the old DOG.

Curiously, on TV5Monde this morning, watching Tele Matin, the France 2 white DOG was back showing the old logo - so I suspect that is added 'downstream' of France 2, probably by TV5 themselves.

One other minor point. Whilst I like the new dot logos, I did think it would have been the ideal time to align the France2 national news with the France.Infos style.

Right now, particularly on the aforementioned Tele Matin, there is a very inconsistent look of both F2 news graphics, and FInfos graphics changing from story to story.

now that it's been in existence for 16+ months, what (if any) impact has the franceinfo TV channel had on French news channels' ratings and media/political landscape at large?

I thought it was added as I found the position of the old channel DOG slightly off compared to the normal feed.

According to the most recent ratings, franceinfo TV is still outside of the top 25:

Does French TV do the big shiny Saturday night light entertainment shows? Or are these really just a UK cultural phenomenon. Do they have the equivalents of Strictly, BGT, XF etc.

I seem to recall when there a few years back looking around the channels the only light entertainment I found on a Saturday was Fort Boyard. And they seemed to be very long episodes. Is that still a big show in France?

What’s the biggest light entertainment show on French TV?

Yes, the current format doing the rounds on TF1 is The Voice. They also do Strictly (Dance avec les stars) from October to December.

There are also French versions of Britain's Got Talent, The Great British Bake Off (M6), Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, 24 Hours in A&E, One Born Every Minute etc.

Incidentally, Destination Eurovision on France 2 which was on Saturday evenings was produced by ITV Studios France, they also produce The Voice for TF1.

Fort Boyard is used as summer filler on France 2 on Sat nights and repeated on France 4 throughout the year.

There are also some home commissions, largely on France 2 for Sat nights, including Le plus grand cabaret du monde and music specials.
