Hoping for some clarity here
Have a smart TV only connected to WiFi
No antenna or cable TV
Have signed up to channels, but can only get live TV on BBC
Any reason for this?
I can view all live TV on phone or tablet

Freeview is only available through an aerial. I think iPlayer is the only smart TV app to offer live channels so you won't get any more channels unless you connect to an aerial.

I'm a bit puzzled, as you can only get Freeview via an aerial. Can you take a screenshot of what's on your TV to expand what you're referring to.

I would have suggested getting an Apple TV or Firestick and using the TV player app. But it’s not what it was. But it’ll give you the main five channels and most of their off shoots.

Without knowing what make and model your tv is, it's hard to assume what services you can receive through your tv, although it's safe to assume that you have access to BBC iPlayer.

If you can't get any other live channels. you may have to invest in an aerial to watch Freeview channels or buy an additional streaming device which can receive the other VOD services.

If your tv has Amazon Prime Video, you can pay £3.99pm for ITV Hub+ which has live streams of ITV, 2, 3, 4, Be and CITV as well as ad free catch-up.

The apps on your smart TV are primarily (and in most cases only) for catch up as they're supposed to be complimenting live TV via Freeview on an aerial. You're not going to get live TV unless you plug an aerial in.

Ignore the fact you can get live TV on your phone, it's a very different device.

If your TV supports screen mirroring of your phone and/or tablet, you could stream on them but cast output to the telly.
