Just saw a proper BBC One trailer for a Euro 2008 match for the first time. They nicely promoted BBC HD and Radio 5live with some jazzy animation, but interestingly the typeface was Gill Sans...!
Is this part of the BBC's Euro 2008 branding or are they coming over all corporate? (Or both!)

The ITV Euro 2008 is quite good with a bit of humour. I don't really think much of the BBC's trailer.
The schedules are as we would expect except that ITV's highlights programme, which would generally be shown every night when BBC1 has the 7.45pm kick off, is being shown on ITV4 this year

The BBC titles have been released and are available to watch on MediaGuardian. (http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/video/2008/jun/04/bbc.television?gusrc=rss&feed=media).
Great graphics, but the music is preposterous!

Hmm, although the ITV trailer actually makes no sense. It's message seems to be that if you're feeling deflated by the absence of the home nations in the competition, you'll feel better because Euro 2008 is on ?
Makes no sense.
BBC titles look good, music awful. ITV have gone for an operatic theme with Natasha Marsh's rendition of Mozart's "Queen of the Night".

The music in the BBC titles is growing on me, I must admit, and I like the remix (never thought I'd say that either). They've not modernised it stupidly, and it still sounds like an orchestra playing. I like the concept of the BBC titles too - after initially feeling deflated by the whole thing, I now find it very clever and well put together.

Very nice.

And since none of Home Nations teams qualified for the tournament, it makes no sense for it to be wasting airtime on
the flagship channels BBC One and ITV1. The live coverage ought to be shown on BBC Three and ITV4 respectively,
Much like the African Cup of Nations (which goes out on BBC Three) Euro 2008 is essentially a foreign event.
