The thing I was pointing out was the lack of that ITV generic ident being used. You would think the one of the better place to have said ident would be going into ITV sport programme ( from the first clip) But no. I've only ever seen one clip of 89 ITV ident and that was going into a episode of Home James!

Itv blue first first appear 19 years ago today.

My question is this, was Itv given full warning this logo was coming down the line on that date? There claims there was a made rush by grampian to change the ident.

The ITV January 2006 idents, How many normal ones were there? I have seen three different press site and there some which others dont have. PLus what are the correct names?

Was there 10? Was there different lengths variations created ? Where did the names come from? a press release?

I don't think there were any variations of length. I certainly don't remember any. They were designed so they could be talked over more or less immediately anyway which negated the need for different edits.

I can't help with the rest, I'm afraid. It feels weird (and slightly scary) that over 10 years have already passed and also how few of them I can remember off the top of my head (without looking on those links). The one I remember the most was the man mounting his motorcycle. That one was also used for regional idents and it was the first one I saw, complete with the extremely tiny 'Granada' lettering under the ITV1 logo. I knew from that moment that it was the dying gasp of any form of regional branding on ITV idents.

I thought I would tidy this up abit over the course of few months, PLUS Ive updated what granada 96-99 might be missing or needs to be corrected.

* Granada: Sketch - A canvass with a G Arrow drawn with crayons. Used before childrens' programmes, most notably the junction leading into CITV. Is this correct: ??????

* Actually date when was the Cake was dropped, either 1st OR 20 April 1998
* When Did Thames dump the ITV ident 28 Oct? or 4 November 1991?:

* Sky Channel: Revised ident from 1990?

Granada Plus idents are complete mess:

* People looking at the Logo on the curtain: 1 October 1996
* People with the remote or stamp on the screen: Early 1998. no rough date

It's the next two that seem to have unclear:
* Clouds idents some point in 1999. There is a clip from January
* The channel renamed to "PLUS" and the logo just spins around. somewhere in 1999. Defo in use in November

* The + ball from September 2002

I wouldn't know for certain, but the way the squares form the 88 in the graphics is very 80s!

Almost as if it was done in the 80s

Did we ever get to bottom of this HTV ident? Some Claim January others claim February 1995?
