Do we really need This Morning as well as GMB and Lorraine on Christmas Day morning and to top it off James Martin too? How dull!

I agree. who are they trying to appeal to with a James Martin cookery show on Christmas Day, when everyone is cooking/eating anyway.

Seriously, they should’ve just chucked on a film, this lineup is dead as nails up to the queen. Then you can expect the usual game shows from 3-6.

Surprised they haven’t got loose women and judge rinder for good measure!

"Just chuck on a film" though and you'd be complaining they just stuck on a film.

I suspect a film will air after the Queen then The Chase leading into the soaps. I did think the Downton Abbey film might get a premiere but perhaps a year too early.

Unless you are expecting James Martin to be 3 hours long, I doubt that line up will go all the way up to The Queen

I also doubt ‘the usual quizzes’ will be on afterwards either

According to the Digital Spy write up GMB begins at 7am and Tenable will also air in addition to The Chase. James Martin's show is usually two hours long so not unreasonable to expect that his show and Ainsley Harriots will largely fill the 12.30-3pm slot. Should still be time for an afternoon movie with the The Chase, Emmerdale and Corrie probably filling primetime. I don't think Birds of a Feather is destined for Christmas Day so not sure what they plan for 9pm.

BBC1 have the Strictly Top 25 Christmas Moments show, which if it's anything like their Strictly the Best series won't rate that well at all so might get thrown out mid-afternoon. Call the Midwife, Doctor Who and I think Mrs Browns Boys are confirmed as being filmed, and they'll be EastEnders of course. I think a Not Going Out Christmas episode has been filmed, but although they usually go out Christmas Eve it does deserve a slot on the day itself, especially with Bobby Ball's passing. I wouldn't be surprised if last years Gavin and Stacey gets a rerun on Christmas Eve or Boxing Day.

Neither Tenable or Ainsley explicitly say they are for Christmas Day, they just say they are Christmas specials

You need to fit in BGT which I thought was for Christmas Day?

I’m not sure what this year’s big Christmas Day show will be on BBC One, last year it was Gavin & Stacey of course. Will it just be all the regular stuff that was on last year excluding Gavin & Stacey

In other news I don't think there's a Strictly Christmas special this year because of all the close cohorts, neither with Doctor Who.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

They are doing a compilation edition of previous Christmas shows and it's confirmed for Christmas Day. Dr Who is rumoured for New Years Day.
