Love that Guinness ad - surprised it's never found it's way across the Irish sea.

As for this year I think Lidl is the winner for me.

Notice the M&S Cheese advert makes a point of saying they've made a £100,000 donation in the name of Jeremy Irons to two of his nominated charities, presumably in return for him narrating the ad. Not seen that done on an ad before, and gives us some idea how lucrative ad voiceovers are.

I might be imagining it, or has the John Lewis advert not had a great deal of showings this year. It seems to me they’ve cut their budget by still making the advert but not buying many slots.

I’ve watched a lot of ITV over the last few weeks what with I’m a Celeb as well as Corrie and the usual stuff, but I haven’t seen it a great number of times, meanwhile the likes of Tesco are on practically every ad break.

I was thinking that myself, although arguably it does all it's work before it is even aired on TV anyway.

Certainly seem more supermarket ads than usual this year, which perhaps given the year other sectors of the retail industry have had isn't surprising. I mentioned the M&S cheese ad earlier but have they even done a more general "Magic & Sparkle" ad. If they did it passed me by.

Not sure if this has aired on TV and some think it's a bit controversial, but I think it is rather nicely done.
