They really lack in content nowadays. Nearly everything is prerecorded when that used to be a rarity before. And they've started repeating stuff at 11.30. That's if they haven't been showing 'a making of' of stuff seen earlier in the night.

Some of the stuff is clips of TV shows soon to be broadcast just with a little insert referencing Children in Need. Minimal effort required.

They could do with more live music performances, utilising more of the West End musicals like they used to... without the overkill, and more stuff like the Newsreaders and maybe utilise the regions given they're at their disposal.

Otherwise I hardly see the point in continuing past the 10pm break.

You have to agree, Comic Relief is far better at the telethon now than Children in Need.

The other channels seemed to stop getting involved when they started their own telethons, for example ITV started Text Santa and Coronation Street, the bill, Emmerdale, Ant and Dec etc did sketches for them instead of for Children in Need. Same with Channel 4 once they started doing Stand up to Cancer Hollyoaks stopped doing performances on Children in Need.

Wonder if next year with their new Radio 2 shows we will see Zoe and Rylan taking a prominent spot in CiN?

Just noticed on the EastEnders skit that the poster states that Pudsey is 38 years old next to the poster of Mickey Mouse which is 90.

Of course Pudsey is only 33 years old. The Telethon itself is 38 years old.

Was it Children in Need that utilised the EastEnders set a few years ago with Shaine Richie in the Vic with various guests? Or am I getting confused with Comic Relief?

No, you are correct. They used all of Albert Square, with One Direction singing in the square.

Didn't realise that the Children In Need Rocks stage used a selection of old Pudsey's and Children In Need logos from years gone by.
