Channel 5's Christmas idents have launched and are based on their standard idents, but with christmassy images in the "light show" around the edges. rather nice. these are also featured on trailers.

It looks beautiful. Channel 5 have proved that a Christmas ident doesn't have to be overly elaborate. I really like it.

Simple but very nice.

Beautifully animated. I notice that each of them have different animations playing around them with slightly different music scores, some things that they could have skimped out on but have done a marvellous job with. Well done all involved in creating them.

Talking of Christmas movies from the little I could stomach of it their British version of a Hallmark Christmas movie was as awful as you'd expect.

TBF they didn't make it, it was an acquisition.

I assume you’re a referring to A Very Yorkshire Christmas? Turns out it was rebranded from A Very British Christmas. It was all a bit jarring with not many Yorkshire accents but plenty of Cockney and Manchester ones. Also seemed to be a Showcase production.

Rebranding a movie to include Yorkshire in the title is about the most Channel 5 move you can get, considering their love of all things Yorkshire and changing the names of programmes.

It was filmed and set in Knaresborough so one of the few times it made sense to change the title.

I watched it and it was pretty much a paint by numbers Christmas movie but pleasant enough although clearly the scriptwriter wasn't British as Pine Falls is more a American or Canadian place name.

Seems it was commissioned for Hallmark. The snow effect towards the end was laughable.

I'm assuming Hallmark and Lifetime haven't been able to keep up their efforts of at least a daily new movie this year.

Knaresborough did look very nice though.

Perhaps they’ll do ‘A Very Zoom Christmas’ this year.
