TBF they didn't make it, it was an acquisition.
Talking of Christmas movies from the little I could stomach of it their British version of a Hallmark Christmas movie was as awful as you'd expect.

I assume you’re a referring to A Very Yorkshire Christmas? Turns out it was rebranded from A Very British Christmas. It was all a bit jarring with not many Yorkshire accents but plenty of Cockney and Manchester ones. Also seemed to be a Showcase production.
Rebranding a movie to include Yorkshire in the title is about the most Channel 5 move you can get, considering their love of all things Yorkshire and changing the names of programmes.

It was filmed and set in Knaresborough so one of the few times it made sense to change the title.
I watched it and it was pretty much a paint by numbers Christmas movie but pleasant enough although clearly the scriptwriter wasn't British as Pine Falls is more a American or Canadian place name.

Seems it was commissioned for Hallmark. The snow effect towards the end was laughable.

I'm assuming Hallmark and Lifetime haven't been able to keep up their efforts of at least a daily new movie this year.

It's a made for TV movie, what do you expect!
Knaresborough did look very nice though.
