BBC1 tonight features programmes recorded in London, Salford, Glasgow, Cardiff and Belfast.

Pretty sure that's never happened before. You can also include Elstree if you want to emphasise everything out of London.

Tomorrow there are also three consecutive programmes from BBC Bristol, so the channel is all over the place this weekend.

My problem with tonight's BBC 1 schedule is the number of hours of quiz programmes featuring Celebrities during prime time.
Celebrity Mastermind, Celebrity Catchpoint, Pointless Celebrities all together between 18:00 - 19:50 and then 20:30 - 21:30 The Wheel, a quiz show featuring celebrities, although it is not in the title of the show.

Where is the variety in almost 3 hours of the same type of programme?
No imagination there at all.

And Bovingdon!

But at least no singing shows (yes ITV looking at you).

True, I hadn't even looked at ITV1's Saturday night schedule - 3 hours of singing.
I know there are issues with recording programmes at the moment, but even so this is lazy scheduling from both main channels.

I have to ask - which of those programmes is made in Belfast?

Mastermind

I assume that regional productions is your specialist subject?

I thought Mastermind was filmed in Salford.

The 2019-2020 series was filmed in Belfast.

It was but since it went to an independent and gained its current look it’s been recorded in Belfast. Pretty sure it was a condition of winning bid.

I must say I quite like the current look. What annoys me is Mastermind Cymru still has the old branding, I know that version is probably still made in house but you’d think they’d be some continuity between the two productions.

I think ITV was the same this time last year and probably wasn’t much different on the BBC. Although they’re both singing shows on ITV, I think the appeal is very different.
