The look itself is well polished and presented, although the personalities singing "Consider yourself..." is a bit on the cheesy side.

Though it does at least know it - when I first saw it I thought for one dreadful moment that they were going to play it completely straight. Still not a big fan, though.

Awful news ident. Music is way too lively!

Thanks. Yes, the music does seem rather brash for something as serious as the news.

Yuck! Absolutely dreadful idents. Failing to think of anything positive to say about them. Horrible music, horrible visuals, horribly tacky.

Another surprise is the lack of the HD symbol on the logo form-up, as they included it in the recent Frozen Planet ident, so why not these new Christmas ones?

Also, no Christmas look for the BBC One website this year?

I think those brash CGI snowflakes sum it up really, there's just too much going on and no cohesion between the differing ideas.

Endboards are lovely though.

Severely disappointed with these new idents.

Indeed lots of different ideas

- The Consider Yourself celebs
- The christmas buffet/cake form up
- The winter scene form up with CGI snowflakes
- The Christmas jumpers on the endboards
- The completely different Gruffulo ident

David Jason seems so out of place considering everyone else in the promo are run of the mill BBC staff like Nick Knowles and Carol Kirkwood!

Is that because he hasn't appeared in a new BBC series for a few years?
(Although you could argue that the 'Fools' repeats are keeping him in the public eye as a BBC star at this moment? Not forgeting he's got a new BBC show starting soon!)

Or are you thinking of him as an ITV star, for the last few years, in which case you could argue that Brucie is in the same situation, but Brucie hasn't appeared on a regular ITV show for the past few years, so is Brucie more BBC than ITV?

I must admit seeing the non light entertainment people eg the Breakfast presenters, on the trail is more strange.

You wouldn't see the likes of Huw Edwards doing this sort of thing though!
