Dr Who will get 10 million viewers - at the most.

Doctor Who will get the biggest numbers this Christmas whether you appreciate it or not,

...and as for ratings, the Christmas episode of Who is known to get roughly 14 million itself ... AND seeing it's Tennant's finale, I'm sure many non Who fans will tune in this year making it the biggest audience it's ever had.

"Biggest numbers"?

"Roughly 14 million"?

"Biggest audience ever"?

lol.

Actually Chie, read the quote:
making it the biggest audience it's ever had

Biggest audience Doctor Who has ever had, not the "biggest audience ever".

Yes I'm aware of that, thank you. Rolling Eyes

How long have they been producing the "Today" menus? Although they only list two programmes same as the next/later slides they must be set up differently as they don't have the irritating feature of the text turning up late and disappearing early.

Since 2006.

Firstly, I dunno why certain members gain some kind of cocky pleasure from trying to prove people wrong, people are allowed opinions and guesses... so to be all roll-eyed and 'lol' about it, is quite immature to be honest...

And secondly, Tennant's special hasn't yet finished. New Years Day is the big one, which most people are aware of... and now not only will people tune in for David's finale out of interest, but every advert is making a big case of "The Time Lords have returned"... meaning older fans who went off it, will also tune in out of interest.

Who's big rating for this Christmas is yet to occur... if the regeneration had been on Christmas Day, it'd have been a different story.

I agree: Chie you clearly loved being able to prove someone wrong there, not because of what it was but just because you were right.

Especially if it involves the BBC.

No, it's definitely because of what is was.

I doubt New Years Day will be any better.

It's still incredibally immature to go on a discussions site and have to make yourself feel better by attempting to prove people wrong... when in reality it's all guesstimates. But each to their own I guess.

It's the equivalent of me being enough of a ponce to go:

Well then perhaps in future you ought to avoid using self-righteous and patronising language like "such and such will happen whether you like / appreciate it or not."

Alright? Smile

Why does the beeb only use stings for Christmas thesedays? The current ones are quite clever; surely it wouldn't be hard to do in the normal set?

Since 2006.

Don't be rude, and wrong.

The current "today" slides are new, its predecessor has indeed been around for a while but the text always used to appear a few frames after the background and disappear a few frames to early, the current one (new in the last few days with a new font for "today" doesn't do this.
