I think if they were going to replace the host, Nick Knowles would be the only other perfect fit. But the whole premise of it, was that it was going to be the next big thing for Gordon Ramsay, getting people talking, and it hasn't.

It is an instant flop though. There are plenty of one and done series in the BBC archives from recent years.

If it was hovering around the 3m mark it might be worth seeing if something could be rescued from it, but at sub 2m, I think even sub 1.5m at times, it is just not worth it. No doubt though elements of it will resurface elsewhere - that's how these things work. Really though the idea would be best restricted to a game in The Cube where you have a minute to put a number of weights on to a balance board without them falling off.

Quite how the BBC haven't thought 'oh we could do a new series of Who Dares Wins' is beyond me to be honest, it is the perfect format for social distancing, the teams are literally in soundproof bubbles for most of the show!

Seems to have fallen out of favour with the arrival of The Wall, The Wheel and of course Pointless which has to be on EVERY Saturday night throughout the year. Who Dares Wins doesn't' seem to have been in production since January 2019. Decent enough format, maybe one for Channel 5 in the future?

Pointless Celebrities must be dirt cheap to make, the top prize is only £2500 and the losing teams get £500 each.

They even showed a new covid safe episode of Pointless on Saturday - possibly the first since the Christmas episode.

Every Saturday night, apart from it not being on next Saturday night.

Ouch. Some scathing criticism there. Unfortunately they're not wrong about the set design. They needed the cameras to be able to go 360 degrees around the set, but the category board and the outer columns prevent that, those columns also blocking the view at times. And the game is too difficult, nobody won more than a banked stack.

You're making quite a bold assumption there that the celebrities aren't paid a fee for taking part. For a one off special as part of a charity appeal people might do it for free (or they will be paid and choose to donate it to the appeal) but for a whole series like this, they will be paying the guests.

Neither The Chase, Tipping Point or Pointless Celebrities pay their celebrity guests. Celebrity Mastermind does iirc
