In other story, the Sami language TV bulletin Ođđasat is jointly produced by NRK in Norway, SVT in Sweden, and YLE in Finland, but it was always presented from NRK's studio. Ođđasat 's graphic and music package has been different from that of NRK's, but this year's refresh saw it adopting NRK Nyheter's new package right from this same year:

Well, if you're going to pick one of those three national broadcasters, I reckon NRK is the best of the bunch. Still loving that news theme.

Me too - and the opening is fairly simply but great.

On 27 September 2015, Italy's RAI News 24 refreshed its look.

The moment the channel relaunched. Alternatively, you may watch another recording without fast forward effect, but audio quality may not satisfy you (compared to the clip above). Also, that particular clip features a TOTH mishap at the end which is not seen in the clip above.

TOTH headlines. Title sequence is not bad, but they could have been done better.

Also, promo for refresh, and break bumpers

(By the way, the channel once changed name to RAI News, but unlike the BBC, the name was changed back to RAI News 24.)

Speaking of RAI, TGR, the regional news on RAI 3, also had a new look this year:

The curious thing is... well, RAI 1, RAI 2, RAI 3 and RAI News 24 each have individual brand for newscasts, and it seems like even the editorial team is separated for each. I think they should go under one unified division (could be called something like RAI Informazione), but why are they separated right now?

5:18 seems a random time of day to launch a rebrand. However am i mistaken or did the presenter mention Rai Uno at 5:20, suggesting the start of a simulcast?

As I recall the three RAI channels had completely separate news teams because there was a carve up between Italy's political parties as to each channel's political leanings. That may no longer hold true today.

Yeah, when television started it soon became the major source of information for many Italians (as goes for the rest of Europe). The RAI was overseen by a ministry generally controlled by the Christian Democratic party. This caused unrest in the 1970s, so trade unions proposed a 'democratisation' of the RAI. The RAI was put under supervision by a parliamentary commission. This caused the channels to be divided among the major political parties. RAI1 became Christian Democratic, RAI2 centre left and RAI3 became leftwing.
Nowadays, RAI1 is usually leaning towards the ruling party, RAI2 is (centre) right and RAI3 is (centre) left, although it became less obvious now.

SVT, Sweden; local news for Stockholm, 2015:

Yep - that's a new development. For many years the regional news for Stockholm was included in a region called "ABC" which included Stockholm and Uppsala, and which came from the main TV Huset (equivalent to TV Centre). At some points in its history it shared a studio (though not always a set) with the main Rapport national news. (Or Aktuellt, which is kind of like Newsnight)

However this year they split the ABC region into three sub-regions for Stockholm, Uppsala and I think Södertälje, with all three bulletins being produced from a regional news centre elsewhere in Sweden, and not in TV Huset?

Some nice clips of previous iterations of ABC (Stockholm was the last bit of Sweden to get regional news from SVT - it didn't launch until '87?) here : http://www.svt.se/nyheter/regionalt/stockholm/abc-gar-i-graven (A news article covering the end of ABC)

Here is a page detailing the launch of the split. : http://www.svt.se/nyheter/regionalt/uppsala/nya-sandningstider-nasta-vecka

Apparently on the day the ABC region split into 3 SVT went from 11 regions to 21 regions for their local news. (This is from the SVT in-house magazine - which is a bit like the BBC's Ariel - https://vipatv.svt.se/204/nyheter/arkiv-for-nyheter/2014-12-30-nya-regionala-nyhetsutbudet-startar-12-april.html )

How the hell did Stockholm not have local news for so long?!

Great to see regional news going in that direction in at least one part of Europe. 21 regions for a country with a population of less than 10m really is serving the audience.

Have a feeling they may have done it by creating some super-hubs for presentation - and not sure if they are all live or not. But yes - definitely a great development.

Think they are making the most of it. TV4 have totally shut down regional news on their channel, though they used it as a major reason to be allowed to continue on terrestrial TV. They weaselled out of the contract by doing regional weather bulletins. Caused quite a stink...
