Most of the stations out there have their own seismographs. KCBS has a digital one while KABC has a live cam. Here is the link: http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/livenow?id=7367462 you can still see the aftershocks recorded from this morning.

I would imagine its kinda scary being in a studio with hot lights swinging precariously above your head and set that could crash down if the shaking is prolonged. But reading articles earlier today mentioned the lighting is chained up....but still scary. But its interesting that KTLA and KABC were the only stations in which the anchors took shelter under the desk. All of them used to do that more frequently in years past. But its pretty cool how they were able to shift quickly from light fluffy morning show stuff to covering this breaking story as people were just waking up. KNBC is being raked over the coals for barely covering it at all. KABC actually dropped GMA to stay local and continue live coverage to assure the public everything was safe and this wasnt a pre-shock leading up to a more intense or stronger quake. its always dramatic tv.
