Ian Axton is presenting his final ITV News West Country programme tonight

Seems like only yesterday he was ending his time on Meridian South East... (2009 FWIW)

Thanks I just wondered if she was going solo with Ian taking on his new role.

Surely it will either be Bob or Jonty taking over?! That's if they want it full time of course.

It's been rebranded as '' The West Country Debate'' with David Wood.

Looks like ITV West Country are recruiting a new main presenter, which is a bit of a surprise really as I thought either Jonty Messer or Bob Cruwys would be promoted to this role. Here's the link:

In addition to this, they are recruiting an On Screen Journalist and a Trainee Production Specialist.

That still might be the outcome - they'll just have to apply for the job themselves. I guess Ian Acton will be hiring his own replacement then, so that's possibly why nobody was lined up immediately.

Also sad but not surprising to see "a high profile on social media" listed amongst the job requirements. Heck that could be seen as discriminatory.
