Sportsline is moving to 22:20 from next week, Are we getting a longer press preview at 22:30?

I would say that is likely. I hope they scrap the 9:30 paper preview while their at it. Whenever there is a big news story the only ever get one paper in before 10 o'clock leaving the 9:30 press preview renderless.

The 9:30pm press preview has obiously not been scrapped.

Sky have introduced a new "Sky Live" project today to encourage the next generation of newsreaders and TV reporters to take up careers in broadcast journalism. I think I remember the BBC doing a similar one-off stunt a few years back, but this looks like a more organised, long-term scheme to help draw in young talent for the future.

Is this something they are promoting on-air, or is there a website for it? I wanted to get some more information but can't find anything about it online, thanks!

They had a feature on Sunrise this morning, but can't find any online links. Sorry. It's open to schools apparently, who enter free-of-charge and pupils get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on in a news studio, and practise writing and reading stories that interest them.

Edit: just read through Sky Press Release on Twitter; they gave this link: http://corporate.sky.com/investors/press_releases/2012/sky_opens_dedicated_schools_tv_production_facility_to_inspire_next_generation

Edit Edit: http://skills.sky.com/ is probably what you're actually looking for. The project is called "Sky Skills Studios".

Lots of changes this morning starting with the transition from the headlines to the studio, The interview background has changed, The breaking news and live wipes are new & they are using new Sky News and Sky Sports News stings/wipes/bumpers, Not sure what they are called for going in and out of the weather, Sports results etc

The sunrise Logo animation remains the same though as does the paper background at :15 the hour

Paper background has changed and they now have a new going into the break coming up sequence showing what papers they will be looking at after the break on the paper review, hard to explain though but it looks nice and matches the toth and other changes

Nice little animation for the coming up too

Will get some caps shortly off the website

Thank you Skynews I have waited so long! Yesterday I watched the BBC because I was too frustrated, from today on it's Skynews again!

Though it would have been nice to have a new theme music!

Eh? You stopped watching as a form of protest until they launched minor transition wipe changes? Good grief.

Wink But actually the theme music is the big problem.

I prefer the old wipe graphics. These are TOOO showy. Although, the coming up sequence isn't that bad. They also need to update the sound, for example the SKY NEWS HD wipe and TOTH WHOOSH wipe, the sounds are out of sync and last for too long.
