By the way, the guy who walks behind Adrian Finighan in this clip is me!

I was a guest at BBC World that evening and was watching the bulletin from the gallery in N9. I timed a walk to the water cooler so I would appear on BBC World TV! I'm such a saddo! Very Happy

Oh my goodness!!! This is amazing mate!!!!!!

Brilliant work - let's hope a certain YouTube pain in the derriere doesn't add any interlude music and pass it off as genuine. I trawled through a load of his work and reported it to YT as fakes but they don't seem to care.

Being an American company its no great surprise as they won't know any better. They don't know its fake and some alternate fictional reality being passed off as genuine. You might as well have asked that spider on the wall behind you for all the good it would have done. He's been taken down before and he'll just spring back up again. Easiest solution is just to ignore it. Don't get involved.

And why would fake videos be banned on YouTube? There would be a lot less content on there if only factual videos were allowed.

I realised that I have an awful lot of old video clips that I recorded from various BBC News outlets between about 2001 and 2004 and it's all just sitting there doing nothing and never sees the light of day.

So, I thought I'd upload it all to Dropbox and give you all access to it. It's a real treasure trove of stuff from BBC One news, News 24, BBC World, North West Tonight etc. Mainly regular bulletins, but also some mistakes and oddities like joint weekends between News 24 and World. I've also got some recordings from when News 24 were in TC10 during the autumn of 2003.

I've tried to organise it into various subfolders for ease of navigation. Please accept my apologies in advance for the terrible quality of a lot of the earlier stuff. I'd urge you to turn your speakers down for those as the sound is very loud. I seemed to get a handle on recording stuff by about 2003 so the later stuff is a bit better. I've tried to omit clips that I downloaded from websites and were sent by friends etc. I hope none have slipped through - I'm 99% sure I recorded everything here myself.

Enjoy!

John Andrew, who appears in the BBC News 24 in TC10 in 2003, has passed away.

I quite like the sting in this as it cuts back to Huw:

Although the branding became really inconsistent in 2003, didn't it? Still using the beige titles from 1999 but a new white and red colour scheme on the screen behind Huw!

^^^ Sounds nice.

But, that whole set is just so bad. I can't believe BBC used that for a national news bulletin. It would hardly fit local news tbh.

To be fair 2008 was far worse!
