The South region has been very lucky to have two of the best heritage presenters in regional television with Sally Taylor and Fred Dinenage. It's also fair to say that when Sally retires, not one of the cover presenters is in the same league.

Phil Horny maybe? Ian Axton would be good to see back in Meridian again, Westcountry have had him for far too long...id like to see Luke Castiglione do a few more presenting shifts

On a slightly different note, I absolutely love Meridian however hate it when it's always the same people. I don't mean Fred and Sangeeta, or any other presenters, I mean it feels like they're constantly using the same reporters which in my opinion makes it looks like they only have a handful of local correspondents.

Just bring back jolly Gemma... ! she's 40 now, how time files....

Fred does have quite a bit of gravitas about him so guess he will be around for some years yet though he must be approaching mid 70's now...

All to do with the cut backs which started in 2009. If ITV had it their own way there wouldn't be any regional news I guess

Very good point, sadly, however they still have a few reporter which means they could regularly mix it up a little!

Is it just me, I always watch and hear the same reporters taking the big headline Meridian stories?

One reporter I always liked and was faintly amused by because of the way he talked was Richard Jones, I presume he went to another region ?
