Many of those previous title sequences were certainly of their time, and probably quite innovative. However, it looks as though (as with Breakfast) they are sticking with having just a glorified sting masquerading as titles.
Let's see how it looks tonight. The theme remix sounds nice. It was lovely to see some of those old studio sets again.

I hope you like the colour pink.
It'll be interesting to see what they do with the studio for this new look.

And here's the recording session...
As part of our updated look, we've also refreshed the way we sound.

Wow, it's not often people use a big studios to created theme music nowadays.

Nice that they were able to get George Fenton involved, who composed the original along with loads of other BBC News themes of the 80s (and Bergerac!)

Odd video of the recording of the theme tune.
I see the brass and barrel drums, but none of the electrical guitars going crazy..

Perhaps this video is a more realistic example then?
I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve always been under the impression that such videos are generally a bit of a fake, as each section of the orchestra is recorded separately, and the full tune doesn’t come together until mixed afterwards.
