I think LNN had to relaunch when they did, to fit in with the new itv news branding.

As for the national weather, that's still going to be recorded in LNN's London TV Centre studio, for the next few months or so at least. Don't forget that the weather have other clients besides ITV, so they may have a whole load of contractual and ergonomic issues there.

LNN are currently considering if they can turn the weather recording process into a 1 person technical operation. The current minimum required is 2 people.

Who else do they produce the weather for?
I thought it was just itv1 national weather bulletins, every half hour on the itv news channel and as part of london today/tonight.

Whoever has the national shift has to present London Weather, even if it isn't during London Today / Tonight.

What's that got to do with who else they provide weather for? Do they actually provide weather for other people?

And another thing. What does the money from sponserships on the weather go towards? Surely the only fees that the weather needs is to pay it's forecasters.

It really does look like the current LNN team are holding the fort doesn't it? There's been no sport section this week and the sports presenters have been filling-in for the main hosts since the ITV News relaunch. Bring on Katie Derham I say.

I would imagine that Katie Derham is on a 2 week holiday; people usually do that before moving from one job to a different company, even if she'll be moving back to ITN with London Tonight in a few weeks.

Hopefully when London Tonight moves to ITN Sports presenters like Wilsie, Gauldie and Carrie will present daytime Sports bulletins on the ITV News Channel, that is something that needs to happen on ITV News Channel to make people realise it is best news channel (even though it is already).

tsk @ the announcer who just called Anna Maria Ashe "Anne Marie Ashe" Rolling Eyes

Wouldn't have happened in the good old days ...

Katie and Emily go head-to-head - Evening Standard

the new show launches on Monday, it seems

and if the piece is accurate, the London Tonight name is staying. Probably a good move, as I guess the brand recognition is fairly high.

It also says that Alistair Stewart is continuing to present. I wouldn't have thought he would do what is probably an 11 hour shift on a daily basis!.

I wonder what this will mean for Anna Maria Ashe, she's been doing London's news since the days of LWT News hasn't she?

Here's an interesting article in The Times about the situation.

Anna Maria Ashe will probably continue as a fill-in and/or weekend presenter for LT, i'd imagine. I can't quite see her going on to the ITVNC somehow anyway.

Anyway, when they say, "new look" London Tonight, i take it they mean purely a new studio rather than another set of titles!

New studio and therefore probably a new presentaton style, new presenter, new senior editorial staff and therefore the content and style will be diffrent.

SO verything is changing except the titles...... think that constitutes a new look

The new set will seek to reflect the relaunched ITV national news set, though with a distinct regional feel.
