Sad news indeed.
I was stuck in Madrid last Sunday and watched him on MSNBC conducting a fantastic studio debate with all the NBC heavy hitting correspondents about the American presidential race.
The man was on top of his game and did it all with a smile.
I just remember I recorded his show last Sunday on my DVR stick (I wanted to watch it later). Little did I know that turned out to be the last show he will ever do.
He had a great pay-off line.
Looking at the assembled NBC reporters around the table he said " You've had a really easy Sunday sat here in a warm studio now get back out on the road and do your job "
And you could tell he said it with real affection.
Russert’s physician, Michael Newman, said cholesterol plaque ruptured in an artery, causing sudden coronary thrombosis.
Is that sort of detail
really
needed?
... I see you are the type of person who likes their news articles dumbed down.
I agree with Jonathan, it's not a case of dumbing down, more dignity and privacy for the deceased. I wouldn't want the intimate details of my post mortum broadcast around the world the day after I died

The point is that Tim Russert was a well-known and much-loved TV personality in the US who died suddenly after no apparent illness. It's only natural for people to be curious as to how he dropped dead at work.
