NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, NBC affiliates and TODAY

Two special reports today, one from Telemundo and the other NBC News, on the guilty verdict of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.

NBC News report was option and about 4 minutes long:



While Telemundo has been rolling coverage of the trial since it began. Their special report coverage started from when the verdict was announced and until 6pm ET, with hiccups for stations to cut away.



And a 45 minute special (likelynairing at 7pm after the evening News).

CNBC now, finally, in HD on Sky

I’m sure Comcast-Sky was a catalyst for that. Perhaps Euronews will follow.

And it would be great to see MSNBC on Sky, although I think their international distribution is very limited. I found it available in South Africa while there - not sure how big the market there is for it

I wouldent mind having MSNBC on SKY, good to get an american prospective on things, watching via web stream atm

Can't see it happening, there would be a very tiny audience for it who are probably already watching online.

Today was Kathie Lee Gifford’s final time hosting the fourth hour of Today with Hoda Kotb. I happen the live in the only TV market in the country that doesn’t clear the show at all. But based on social media they used Studio 6A - the one built for Megyn Kelly. The studio hasn’t been used since January and I thought they decommissioned/dismantaled it. Anyway from what I saw everyone in the audience got a free Carnival cruise.

Meredith Vieira has been filling in for Hoda on the 4th hour this week and is a breath of fresh air. Today should bring her back and keep her in this slot permanently. There were rumors of Hoda wanting to leave the 4th hour and focus on the main show so I wouldn't be surprised if they are using this as a test to see how she works with Jenna.

I always thought Meredith has a great TV personality and her tenure on main Today show was perhaps the show's last great period.

Jenna is bland and boring and her only contribution is blabbing about her grandparents , parents etc. She will soon be off to maternity leave, hopefully, so Meredith can take over.
