true, which makes you wonder if when the Look East contract finishes, that will then be the end of Weatherquest on BBC East. A shame as Jim Bacon et al are good forcasters and of course Jim was head of weather at Anglia for many years.
Alex Dolan is very good, but I've never taken to 'Wacky weather' aka Julie .
Yet Julie doesn't stumble like Alex does but she is getting better
Weekends we were getting weather summaries, basically a still image three day forecast or sometimes a very short sequence of the next day weather with the presenter reading out a summary. Simple enough for a weekend bulletin, especially with National and Countryfile forecasts following within about an hour on a Sunday.
Now we have someone from London presenting a weather forecast inserted into the bulletin, introduced by the presenter at the weekend. And now according to Alex Dolan on Twitter she will present a forecast on the late bulletin during the week, is this cost cutting or preventing an increase expence to an expanding requirements?

The implementation seems to have been very poor. The weather hub teams clearly aren't watching the output as broadcast otherwise they would realise that in the Breakfast forecasts it should say "Outlook" and not "BBC Look East Outlook" as the is already a dog showing that we are watching BBC Look East.

Is that so they broadcast the right forecast to the right region, sounds obvious but who knows?

It might well be but frankly it looks wrong and pride should be taken in how output looks to the viewer. Personally I fail to see what benefit these additional forecasts are really providing. Seems like a one size fits all approach.

It looks like this irritation has now been resolved for Breakfast forecasts following some twitter conversations.
Strangely this evening the regional part of the 90 second update for BBC Look East came from Cambridge I think this evening with Janine Machin. Certainly the same broadcast went out of both opts.
To keep the breakfast thread on topic I thought I would mention here that unlike BBC North West, it doesn't look like BBC Look East celebrate christmas. Have they spent there annual budget, forgetting a christmas tree. Normally I see christmas news stories, but I havent notice Mike Liggins doing anything this year.

They've probably blown it on their Olympic set earlier in the year!
Neil Bradford joins BBC Look East tonight from ITV Anglia. I think eventually his presenting duties will come into play.
Also Jim Bacon (weatherquest) has been used tonight, first time since the changes to weather output.
I see yesterdays weather from the hub did not have the look east wording on the outlook graphics. I do hope they can put more lighting in at some point, the recording from the studio without full lights, makes it dull.

The use of BBC LOOK EAST OUTLOOK or OUTLOOK varies. I think they've improved at only using OUTLOOK at Breakfast after I pointed out it didn't look good on screen. It seems the hubs don't actually see how any of the forecasts look when broadcast.
