Isn't that ex ITVNC presenter Mark Owen...? That's so cheesy... the 'a bientot' at the end of the bulletin!

Surely that can't be the set? It looks like a student production!

yeish! I hope that isn't what viewers would have to put up with on France 24. That promo is very amaturish and not very revealing.

Those graphics are terrible!

The test is on Sky at present 12560H under label 53281, without audio whenI last checked.

I've seen a test run for the channel which was accidentally placed on a TV website. It was awful. I'm not sure whether or not it was literally just a basic test, but the set was an awful office, the presenter was a weak English girl and the theme was crap

I have to say, it is very dangerous to do too much judging from this promo. As Sherlock Holmes used to say, it is a capital mistake to theorise before one has enough data to do so, and we ONLY have 3 minutes worth of data, very little of which gives much indication about the channel.

I suggest we do not follow the Conservative/Republican/Fox News trick of condeming a channel before it launches, something which I have commented about on my own blog. I'd rather wait for some real data, namely the launch of the channel and the programming itself.

i reserve my judgement. The french are perfectly capable at producing quality news, here in Australia, SBS TV broadcasts France 2 News and i've caught a few moments glimps at it and it looks decent.

Production wise the French are good, but they tend to go a little bit too stylised with their sets and titles and can sometimes make the whole thing a little bit too 'white' and catwalk looking. However, you're right. We'll have to wait until launch! If it's anything like TF1, which has just reluanched it'll be great!

Looking much better, very french! It looks it the 24 will be said in French i.e. France Vingt Quatre rather than France Twenty Four.
