Euronews themselves have uploaded a showcase video of their new look. All the idents and elements. I really like it.

I found myself turning that video down during the ident of the ads - they had a remix of the bloody Herbal Essences woman in there - very disturbing and perverse.

Good. I see Sport has taken more of a backseat in the scheduling, with Business coming second and Sport third instead of the other way round, with almost half of each hour dedicated to news.

Well, a word for the new look is... inoffensive. It is very white, and the weather looks very clinical with the drab blues used.

Anything is an improvement on the new look, but whether this is a good direction for EuroNews I don't know - the news looks like some artistic channel rather than something authoritative to tune into for news. A lot more segments too about space and air travel, I noticed too.

It might grow on me, but as a whole I think it lost the little authority it did have over this relaunch.

Besides (me being picky here) but I couldn't help noticing that the little thumbnail in IE7 that appears in the address bar still houses the old look!

The new look is very interesting...

Why are there black bars at the top and bottom of the picture? Looks dreadful. Also the clock on the bottom-right of the screen is missing the hour - and displaying the minutes, it looks very daft.

Like how the graphics straps disappear off screen.

Channel looks more professional though with this new look, albeit the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen and the clock missing the hour!

The idents from that YouTube video are nice... for an entertainment or documentary channel. They're not very newsy at all.

There seems to be a much greater emphasis on English more that the other languages. Gone is Economia in favour of Business. And "Ads" is now predominant while the other language's words for 'advertising' are stuck at the bottom. There's still Le Mag and Meteo, though.

They used to have the clock like that about ten years ago, although the DOG was on the bottom right and the half clock above the DOG.

I don't agree with the black bars thing, it's not as if everything they have is in 16:9, all the footage comes from other broadcasters doesn't it?

Yeah, I noticed that. That clock thing they have going is very weird. Saves time of listing time locations, I suppose!

They have that on the scheduling on their website too.

Big white circle? Now where I have I seen that before? Ah yes! Central Independent Television's launch globe way back when.

It looks a bit bland to me. That white circle's not very imaginative is it?

Well, it's been a very radical change. From what I've seen in the video on youtube it doesn't look bad, though, I'd be interested in seeing how it works during a normal bulletin.
Very pure, clean and european style.

That weathermap is a f*cking disgrace - second only to the BBC for its squewed view of Scotland.

Pathetic.

I don't see the problem. It's looking at Scotland from a lower angle - and any rational person can tell that, as can they therefore deduct that Scotland isn't that size.
