The only red I think looks out of place is the big panel to the right of the catwalk. In normal circumstances it would probably be easy to get a bit of set to cover that up. I don't actually mind the red in the newsroom.

The newsroom background is a little busy for the winding down feel that Newsnight aims for. I think it would help if they changed the screens to the Newsnight logo like they did on Andrew Marr... that would help a bit. Otherwise the changes to the colouring of the studio as well as the in-studio screens are pretty spot on.

Always said the red colour scheme made the studio look worse than it actually was. This looks pretty decent and far better than the temporary set up they had for the election. Just a shame the catwalk in E has the worst bank of screens of all the NBH studios.

I take it then B is now completely mothballed. Others here are better than me at identifying studios but is the news channel in the virtual studio (A?).

News Channel is in C simulcast World.

This is probably the best Studio E has ever been used. Just shame about the permanent red bits.

I didn’t think they would do much with Studio E but Newsnight has shown the amazing things you can do with Studio E.

Yeah the baked one red bits but there’s nothing that can be done there.

Let’s not all have a collective wet dream over this. Yes they’ve done a great job with limited resources and yes the relighting is effective, but the combination of the Newsnight colours with the harsh red of the fixed elements is horrible. And that’s not to take away from the work that’s been done to move into studio E under difficult circumstances, because they’ve absolutely done the best they could, but the standard setup in their normal studio is infinitely better.

The bulletin felt like Newsnight regardless of the change of studio. The lighting was effective, although I agree that I can't wait for Newsnight to return to B.

Silly question but is it just E at NBH that has robotic cameras or is it all the studios? Could that be a key reason for the change.

So Sportsday is on BBC1 now and according to the EPG The Papers is still scheduled at 10.45 - I'd have thought they'd just simulcast Newsnight.
Sportsday? It should've been regional news, did Wales' opt out fail?
