It seems that GMG is now planning to bid for the forthcoming Manchester radio license with an all-talk format called Channel M Radio.

Sounds interesting, it could work, you never know it could be like a Northern LBC or something.

Well Channel M News must be doing alright if they're planning to bid for a radio style version. Though I still watch it, though its on at 5pm now it is still good. I have also been past their studios at Triangle in Manchester and they're tiny, though I think they're only desinged for shops. Though take a look at outside you get a good view of the studio, they also have a few promotion sheets blu tacked to the windows on how to find Channel M.

The thing is Channel M News is probably the only good thing on Channel M, everything else is Canadian stuff constantly replayed, though Euro News is good viewing in the morning.

Well it seems that Channel M News seems to be on the move more than ITV Regional News, as they've moved across the street from the Triangle to The Printworks! So now there's a mixed view of the Arndale rebuilding site, the side of the Triangle and the back of M&S/front of Selfridges!

Very city-eque, I'll try and get a cap or two later.

Here's a cap of the new view, and I can't get used to it....

It's a shame about that for many reasons, as it would have been nice to have the oppurtunity for a Talk Radio station in Manchester that isn't BBC GMR and for the FM frequencies not to be clogged with music, we have enough choice for music, though I wouldn't be too bothered if Xfm got it. It's also bad as if they did get it, it would help build up Channel M's portfolio and bring in a dual media service.

Slightly OT, but does anyone know where you can get the ratings for RSL's such as Channel M.
