A very sad loss. I grew up watching her, a true professional.
Has anyone heard any comments from Sandy Gall or Alistair Burnet? Don't hear anything from them these days, but maybe they'll say something about Carol.
very sad today, she was the face of ITN for so long, and presented with authority and elegance.

This is a very sad day for television news.
Carol Barnes was an excellent newsreader who appeared on all of ITN's news programmes. She always came across as a very warm person and she always had a smile on her face. I always enjoyed watching the news when she was presenting it during my childhood in the 80s.
She will go down in history as one of the best female newsreaders ever to appear on our screens.
It was great to see her back on our screens in January when she appeared on Tonight. It was an extremely well presented programme and it's so hard to believe that just six weeks later, she is dead.

She has a smile on her face while reporting war and murders did she? Please think about what you are saying.

Or maybe they won't.
A comment is not obligatory, you know.

I did think about what I was saying. You have taken what I said out of context. This is not the place to have a slanging match though. We're here to remember Carol and mourn her passing.
Have any of you even met the woman? I doubt it. It annoys me that you're talking as though you're at her funeral, but you've simply watched her on the television.
