I think it's a given there will be special coverage on BBC One and ITV given its a momentous moment.

Downing St has announced that the PM will be making a speech that night.

The moment of going in wasn't marked at all on BBC1 or BBC2, according to Genome, but on Radio 4, there was a special programme from London, Brussels, Paris and Hamburg. It lasted 10 minutes. Perhaps today's BBC could learn from this approach....

Shame Brucie's no longer with us, he could see us out. "Nice to have seen you, to have seen you..."

There was a Question Time-type programme on BBC1 on New Year's Day 1973 with Britain's two new European commissioners. Which has just reminded me that Question Time the night before Friday 31st is going to be the worst edition ever made, isn't it?

I’ve deleted some posts and given out a one week ban. How many more times? This is not the place to air your views on Brexit.
Find an outlet somewhere else if you’re struggling.

BBC One will be simulcasting a BBC News special with Huw Edwards from 10pm-11:15pm, replacing the BBC News at Ten.

Quote:
Leaving the EU: BBC News Special
Live coverage of the moment the United Kingdom leaves the European Union, presented by Huw Edwards with reports and analysis from the BBC News team across the UK and around the world.

Curiously the description has changed already, and the presenter is now listed as Sophie Raworth.

There are also two versions of the schedule currently online - Hull & CI show part 1 as 2200-2225, with the following:
Quote:
With only an hour till the United Kingdom leaves the European Union, Katty Kay, Christian Fraser and Ros Atkins present live coverage from London and Brussels
. Part 2 follows at 2235 after the regional news.

Katty Kay & Christian Fraser start their programme at 19:00 on BBC Four and BBC News, though not called Beyond 100 Days

It will be interesting to see if any of the programmes have a substantial audience or if everyone has had enough and goes to bed Smile

I’ll be watching “Brexit with Rylan”. There’s no competition.

I notice that (as usual) some broadcasters can't be bothered updating the copyright date. Brexitcast was still showing 2019 (MMXIX) during the repeat on the NC this afternoon.

I assume that only the absolute most vehement Leavers will want to watch what will inevitably be just a load of inane waffle. And maybe not even most of them.

And considering how those of us who are Remainers feel about the situation itself, the idea of watching coverage of the moment is about as appealing as poo-on-toast.

The Last Leg strikes me as the most appealing of the options on offer, in preference to anything of a "news special" nature. But I suspect that Brexit fatigue (whichever side you're on) means even that may struggle for an audience.
Ben Shatliff and Parker gave kudos

Some stuff that went out over the Christmas period were showing 2020 dates on their endcaps, which seemed to imply they're literally back from the future at that point in time. Though the more likely explanation is the schedule was changed.
