A static image of Trump aired for a while before a rehearsal intro for the Ten with Huw complaining about the fact that he couldn't see the pictures before it cut back midway through a weather Bulliten.

Does this really need a thread? Stick it in the bloopers thread, it wasn’t even that much of a blooper at app.

We've been told to create new threads rather than add to 'megathreads', yet when people try their best to follow that advice, they get a response like this, and then people wonder why (especially newer) users are hesitant/unsure about posting.

I take it this gaffe occurred on the BBC News Channel rather than BBC1?

yes between ending of the 9pm hours and where the weather should begin, but we got the rehearsal instead, crashing back to weather mid flow.

It’s on live rewind for the news channel on iPlayer if anyone is that way inclined.

I think it's stupid creating new threads for everything. I can't keep up and end up missing stuff. I only ever used to read the threads I was interested in, searching for the BBC News Channel thread as that's what I was interested in, and not even bothering to read the titles of the others.

Now I have to read it all just in case I miss something to do with the BBC News Channel.

Poor decision by the mods in my view.

I have found the opposite. For years I struggled to wade through massive threads trying to keep up with developments that could be buried within minutes. Now, I'm finding that I'm learning much more about what is going on because a new thread highlights it much more effectively.

The other problem I found with the old megathreads was that they stifled discussion because the thread had moved on to something else very quickly. With the changes brought in recently, threads have the space to grow naturally and have led to some really interesting and engaging discussion that would never have been allowed to happen in the megathreads.

For me, the policy change - including banning rota discussion - by the mods has breathed new life into TV Forum.

Someone should tell @HuwsAtTen as it appears to be the first time in living memory he hasn't started News at Ten in the exact same pose. (He did say "Tonight at Ten..." so we can treat it as part of News at Ten even if it was five minutes early and on the News Channel.)

Cutbacks now mean they can't get the body double in to "do the Huw" every night.
