A joke even worse than "Why did the chicken cross the road?" If anyone can think of a worse joke than this, please respond. The BBC really are short on humour lately. Seriously though, does anyone else think that BBC News Coverage has dumbed down lately?

Is there nothing else to moan about? No! There is nothing wrong.

Irony Burns is maybe related to the bloke who runs the nuclear plant in Springfield.

How can you consider the dress sense portrayed by our Guardians of news coverage to be jocular. National Service!!!!!!!! its the only bloody answer!!!!!!!!! teach them a thing or two about dress sense. I recall being in India during some squirmish or other. Japanease pounding at the gates. We never gave into pressure, always finished our breakfast and ALWAYS faced the enemy with a correctly knotted tie. I ask you... (Editors Note. Again edited due to the ramblings of a recently lobotomised former General trying to drum up readers for his new cook book " Shell shock and chips" )

I can from your post profile your identity.

You are the sort of person who believes that

  • males must wear a tie at all times and hair must be symmetrical (perhaps you're Phyllis Wednesday? I am spotting a lot of these characters in some members of this forum...)
  • any mention of any part of the body is lewd, rude and obscene
  • Clothing must be worn while in the shower
  • the Daily Mail is to be treated as holy scripture
  • fox hunting is a divine right
  • the BNP is a bit soft on immigration
  • Conservapedia should be taken seriously
  • I should not be talking to you as I am common and you are of a higher social class and I should not be seen or heard.

Either way, not everyone wants the news presented with a stiff upper lip. The whole point of the presentation styles of most regional news programmes is to be more friendly and in touch with the viewers.

I suggest you get off your horse Mr. Moncrieth. FASCIST!!!!!

Someone with a sense of humour approaches and all the geeks gang up like the bullies they cowered before in school. Ironic and not a little sad. Come on Strumpers, let 'em have it. Laughing

Maybe those geeks are being postmodern and you don't realise Wink

Tell you what Rog, I'll explain my point with an equation even the geeks would understand.
Geeks + postmodern thinking = Americans + irony. It just doesn't add up. Wink
I happen to know that most TV weather forecasters spend a heap of time telling us what's already happened so the geeks can pretend they've not spent all day staring at a screen. So let's not worry about them. Question is, will Mark Edwardson's choice of neckwear tomorrow cause a stir in Strumpet's study? I do hope so!

Another question is-- do we all need to get some fresh air?

Very subtle choice of tie/shirt. But hardly likely to induce a coronary for SM. Disappointing.
