Lucy has been at Granada for a while now. She has progressed from being on off-screen reporter to presenter.

I think Sarah is good too. She did a good job at filling in for Lucy last week.

London Tonight and Granada Reports are having some kind of link-up tonight for the London-v-Blackpool super-casino story.

On the Granada Reports end there was not much cross linking, just a Live broadcast from Blackpool and an interview. Where as on London Tonight they had a report about the Grenwich bid and then Ann O'Connor live in Blackpool talking to Alastair and Katie, Katie did make reference to ITV Granada as well.

A good idea I think, it was the top story on London Tonight, but it was the third story on Granada Reports, they started less than a minute after London Tonight moved onto the next story.

The ITV50 part of Granada Reports tonight was certainately worth a watch, as it had a look back of the titles/theme tunes to Granada Reports and Granada Tonight, including a 1970's version I haven't heard before. The first CGI titles from 1986 when Granada Reports relocated to the Albert Dock, and the original 1990 Granada Tonight titles, which according to Paul Crone were probably nicked from Dallas or Dynasty.

They also looked at Presenters and Reporters at their finest moments, such as Paul Crone in 1987, but the best had to be at the end, when they showed a clip of Granada Tonight from 1992 in the Lucy Meacock/John Huntley era when they tapped the keys into the keyboard to cross over to a Live link, which you could tell was very fake.

Did anybody manage to capture it?

In the words, better late than never, I've had this on DVD for sometime now, but managed to get it uploaded earlier, hope you enjoy.

Well done, Granada, great top story on your Lunchtime edition today, Debbie Lindley's battle with post natal depression (Okay PND is a serious condition and I'm not challenging that at all), but really it's not News at all, it's not even News from the North West (I take it Debbie lives in Yorkshire) and there's the obvious one on the Gun Crime dominating in Manchester at the moment.

I did wonder if Granada was going to cover it. She is one of Granada's weather presenters so where she actually lives isn't really important

Another piece of Granada history bites the dust....

They've just removed the huge stone Granada G logo from outside their current/former (?) Lancaster office at White Cross.

Though, to be honest, thought it would have gone sooner.

Wonder where it's gone, probably just been broken up.

I think, and it's only an I think, but it's the special Set of the Granada Studios where Coronation Street interior scenes are shot, I remember it from the last time I went round Granada Studios Tour when it was still open.

If you drive down Water Street the entrance and all the signs are still there, it's just that they are permanently locked and alot of Cars (some also that you would see in Heartbeat or The Royal) seem to park on the inside of the former complex.

I've seen your post about the Studios on the other Thread, I didn't know they occassionally opened the Studio Tour entrance for Audiences, I always thought they went through the main Barrier controlled entrance on Quay Street.

Yes that building with what looks like a clock tower is the studio where Corrie is filmed (studio 1 I believe)

When I went in the studios for a show last summer the enterance was via the black gates on Water Street. They then took us to the waiting area which was inside the warehouse building (used to be part of the Granada tours) and then they took us across to the main Quay Street building.
