I thought it would be interesting to rebrand ITV (again I know) with a different approach, using a warm serif rather than a strict commercial looking Sans. I know the last logo was a handwritten style, but for some reason I've never been a fan of it, or the previous 2006 logo. This is my interpretation of how the channels could be rebranded, with no 'channel colour' meaning programmes advertised would use their own 'programme colour'.

For the actual logo, I was deciding between going with ITV which hasn't been used in their logo uppercase in a long time, or go with itv. I tried both in the font I decided on, and I just thought that itv looked friendlier and I really like how the 'tv' part are connected. For other channels, the words of the numbers are used rather than a numeral. These are in uppercase, and can go below the logo or next to it, for example, in EPGs it would be probably best suited to go next to it. Here's the channel logos, colour schemes and typefaces used.

*

I wanted to keep all programme promos very simplistic and avoid gradients and images that would make it way less clear. In the end, I used the show's main colour with a cream bar and the channel logo at the bottom. Instead of just a blank colour with the bar, I thought I could add something so I added some abstract rectangles/shapes and dots - these could be representative of the dot in the itv and the shapes of the logo itself. Another big change is the change to Avenir rather than Reem. Again, I've never liked the font and I think a full rebrand should also introduce a new font. I also think the font is much friendlier and less commercial looking.

ECPS are a similar story, going with the same design and fonts.

*
*

I thought News would be essential to re look at, especially if Reem's going. So here's what I came up with, obviously it's not much, just an idea of the colours and logo.

*

In a rebrand mock an interruption slide is definitely a requirement Very Happy

*

As for the ITV Hub, it's got a new logo/colours to fit the new styles and I thought it would be a great feature if they introduced Profiles like Netflix has.

*

Last of all, here's a summary slide that could be shown on ITV's website or on screen in the first week or two of the rebrand.

*

I'm not a writer so don't judge the wording of that, it's just a rough idea.

I know this mock might not be to some people's taste, obviously it would be a risky thing to do but I think it looks friendly and helps give a stronger message to viewers. Hope you like the mock and let me know what you think.

That would not suit CITV at all! They'd have to have a non-generic logo like in the 90s.

I'll be honest. I'm not a fan.

I can see where the idea came from, but I don't feel like it works considering the remit of ITV. I could see it working for ITV3, but I can't see it working for the rest of the channels. The execution is pretty decent, but the concept itself feels a bit unusual.

I can see where this might be going... but wouldn't this make the channel look a bit - quoting Mr. Nairn of Lambie on the "TWO" look of BBC - "dull and worthy?"

I'm not a british person, but I'm pretty sure that this most likely wouldn't tell you anything about the personality of the channel.

[also, personally, i think using times new roman for anything modern is just downright sin Very Happy]

Well done for trying something different but it looks like a broadsheet newspaper. Not branding suitable for a mainly entertainment based commercial TV broadcaster.

The contrast of this logo alongside "Hilarious Comedy: Family Guy" (itself an oxymoron) amuses me. You didn't get your TWOs mixed up, did you?

Nice idea but doesn't fit with 4/5 of their channels or the Hub... 2/5

I guess thanks for your feedback, despite how irrelevant most of it was...

Yeah just fancied trying something different for the channels and to make it stand out from others

Just... no.

It's not fitting for any of these channels, ITV3 maybe but especially not CITV. It looks too old fashioned. Just keep the 2013 logos. There's nothing wrong with them. The script ITV they have now is already pretty strong and recognisable. The patterns in the endcards are nice, though.

I get where you’re coming from, I guess a bit more colour could be added but I wouldn’t go as far to call it dull as the abstract dots and rectangles could be animated and it is quite vibrant in places such as promos and ECPS. I used Times New Roman for the S in ITV News only, but felt I should credit it in case someone pointed it out (quite likely tbh)

Ok but I thought the c was quite fun - not sure it doesn’t suit it AT ALL

Okay but maybe be a little less rude and give me feedback other than “just no”. Thanks for your words about the endcards, I think they’re probably the strongest part of the mock. Many bad logos are strong and recognisable, being strong and recognisable doesn’t mean your logo is perfect IMO.
