ITV Nightscreen redesign graphics mock

Hi TVForum,

Some of you may remember my ITV Nightscreen mock from last year (http://www.tvforum.co.uk/thegallery/itv-nightscreen-redesign-graphics-mock-40918). I got some great feedback but looking back, it still never completely fit in with the main ITV brand. Although it worked better than the Nightscreen that ITV are currently using, it didn't really have the look and feel of ITV.

I've changed quite a lot of things in this update. It is inspired by the ITV endboard as you can probably tell. I've removed the ticker and added a ITV News top stories section instead. The ticker didn't look right with the updated graphics.

I understand that Nightscreen is a cheap filler, but in it's current state, ITV should either give it a refresh or get rid of the Nightscreen altogether.

I do like it quite a bit to be honest. I love the fact that you've added a top stories segment.
One thing I would say is add the genre/ad/sub boxes but making sure they don't look like the ones from last year (No offence).

I think this is great. I've given it four stars rather than five, due to minor problems relating to positioning (see, e.g. ITV News logo near the end) and the smoothness of animations (see ITV segments fading), but other than those very minor issues, I love this. It fits with the ITV branding and on-screen look and you've made great use of screen space, adhering to safe areas and using the correct typeface. Big eye-catching pictures and excellent to see news incorporated too. Fantastic.

Thanks for your helpful feedback. I've made a few minor changes to improve the alignment of everything and I've added the genre/ad/sub boxes. I've also improved the way the shows section animates into the ITV animation and then into the ITV News Top Stories section. Unfortunately, one thing I couldn't fix was the ITV segments fading issue.

Next, I'm thinking of adding an ITV Hub section which features the most popular content on the ITV Hub from ITV. Do you think I should create different versions for the other ITV channels, or should I just feature the schedules from all ITV channels on this one?

I would make different nightscreen styles for each channel as ITV2 have a nightscreen which is just a simulcast of ITV Nightscreen, so you can make it so it's one only ITV2 can use e.g

I've changed the colours around to match ITV 2. I'm not sure which design is best for the programme info at the bottom of the Nightscreen.

Obviously these designs aren't final but I'd just like an idea of which looks best to start off with. I prefer the rounded design, but ITV 2 doesn't use the same endboard as ITV so a boxed design may match the channel better.

You could make the ITV 2 more like the promo in the credits, so have the image at the side?

I love these designs, and I like how you've ITV2ified them. I personally prefer the curved version.

The curved one fits in with ITV and makes it feel more universal. I would use number 1

It doesn't look right in my opinion unless you can suggest any tweaks.

I'm afraid to say I greatly dislike the final ITV2 design. I love, however, your 'traditional' curved ITV endboard style for both ITV and ITV2.

The description text on the ITV 2 slides should be in lowercase. It's much harder to read large chunks of text in all caps.
