Hi,

I was planning on not sharing this but as TVF is shutting down I thought I would. It's essentially a recreation of the GMB graphics (with some tweaks), both the 2015 and 2017/2020 incarnations. I'm afraid they've got green backgrounds again, as I haven't had time to put images in, but here we are. I'll be posting a mock of ITV News in the style of GMB in a few days time, too. I'll also be adding onto this mock, as I didn't want to include everything in one post

Ticker - I experimented with having it as teal and grey
*
Normal ticker - I decided this looked better
*
Sensitive graphics - the ticker area would just display the date with a simple description of the event
*
Example of the ticker displaying showbiz and sports news
*
Example of breaking news graphics and ticker
*
Example of breaking news graphics and LIVE bug with white ticker
*
***GMB 2015*** (please excuse the spelling of 'pallete', that obviously wouldn't appear on air)
*
Names
*
Headline
*
Main graphics
*
Developing story
*
Breaking News
*
*
Exclusive (with an extra tag, my tweak)
*
Name and LIVE bug
*
Entertainment
*
Coming up
*
An example if 'GMB with Lorraine' used the 2015 graphics
*
Graphics for the Lorraine news update (that was axed quite a while ago)
*
Potential screen date graphic
*

Please leave any comments, they're greatly appreciated!

These look good, but I do find myself much preferring your 2015 set to the current ones. Maybe it's just me but I feel like they fit better Smile

Do you mean the way I've designed them or just the graphics used in general?

If it's the way I've designed them, it's probably because I tried to directly copy the 2015 ones off the pre-existing 2015 graphics (e.g. create the shapes over a picture with the graphics). For the 2017/2020 ones, I just based it off the normal graphics and created it without directly copying.

I meant in both ways, the way you've designed them and the style in general (sorry if that wasn't clear before). Might be slightly biased though because those ones have been made in the old safe area space and therefore look more balanced.

Overall though, this does look really nice and I'm glad you've shared it.

UPDATE

A small update, I've recreated some of the new graphics on the screens (introduced at the start of this month) and I'm also sharing some GMB-orientated graphics for if ITV did a full New Year's Special. This is part of an ITV News (in the style of GMB) refresh mock that I'll release soon. I've also included an idea for the wallpaper of GMB computers.

Any constructive feedback hugely appreciated!

BACKGROUNDS
Decided to have a crack at the big screen backgrounds, with the new 'blocks'.

Normal background
*
Breaking News background (with breaking news ticker)
*

And, if any of you want a crack at creating this, you'll realize that some blocks actually go behind the London buildings but in front of the sky. So, to make it easier for anyone who wishes to recreate I'll add in the original backdrop and the version I made by cutting the sky off the buildings. I can't remember where I found the original backdrop (it's definitely the official GMB one though), so if anyone remembers please let me know so I can credit it.

Original Backdrop

Just buildings

Constructive criticism welcome as always!

I've seen that two people have rated this 1 and 2 stars respectively, with a bunch rating it as 3 stars - is there anything specific I can improve on to improve the mock & increase the rating?

I'm really impressed how perfectly you have managed to cut out the buildings from the sky. If I tried to do that half of the top of the building would have gone with the white parts of the clouds. What programme did you use to do it in?

Thanks - nothing fancy, just Paint.NET. I zoomed in very closely and used the eraser tool to create an outline of where the buildings were to create a gap between the sky and the buildings. Then, I used the 'magic wand' feature to select all of the sky and deleted it, manually selecting and deleting the bits that didn't delete with the magic wand.
