Stuff it. These are very rough sketches that I wouldn't have shared at all were it not for the news tonight about TVF closing up. I share them because I think there's a good idea in there somewhere, even though I don't really have the skill to execute this properly.

The main thing I want to draw attention to is the end board - in general, I think you have the base of a good concept, making the BBC blocks front and centre, informing every part of the design.

Idents are influenced by DCM (
), which would be a very flexible template - I'm thinking an ident for each and every possible genre and mood of programme, to reflect what's coming next. But there could also be a hint of late-90s Channel 4 coming through as well.

I used Reith before seeing the new BBC Select logo, and only because the 1 in Reith looks more like a 1 than that of Gill Sans. I think I got the proportions OK.

My first and last TVF mock. It's not the execution, it's the idea.

I... really, really like this! The way you've used the logo in the idents is very refreshing and I like the bold approach you've taken with it.

The idea is solid but I'd ditch the 4th block and as I said when someone recently raised the question whilst dropping the BBC1 brand would be dumb having greater emphasis of the BBC brand in the look of BBC1 would actually make a lot of sense, and something like the above but with three blocks, and then working a smaller BBC One logo into them (perhaps in one block, stacked) would be quite effective for the idents at least.
