Right, I've just brainstormed a different iPlayer concept. The new idea (the one below) seperates the "i" and the "P", and uses the Reith Condensed font, just like BBC Sounds - bringing the BBC's digital services more in line! Here's a comparison:

Either way, I have some expansions planned for iPlayer for this project. Among one of them which I considered is "iPlayer Channels", an a la carte VoD sub-service that functions similarly to Prime Video Channels and Apple TV channels. Opinions are welcome regarding the update! Smile

The "new idea" looks ugly.

Neither are as good as the existing version by a long way. It's like you've completely missed the play icon.

Understandable. I’ll tweak it further. If all else fails, I’ll use the initial logo, but with a little “Reithening”.

I prefer it to the first one. But the triangle looks slightly wierd

I've just been revising iPlayer (again) over the past 12 hours, and based on feedback from the previous revision, I've made the wordmark less creepy, in that way, I've decided to Reith-up the current logo - with a few modifications. I actually created two, dependent on user opinion, with Reith Sans and Reith Serif:

Opinions are welcome on which one is better! Smile BTW, I'm also revising BBC Sounds.

I like both. In terms of suitability I think the sans one would work better, but the serif one looks great too!

Very nice. I think the Sans version works much better and looks brilliant.

I agree with the above, Sans feels like it works as a standalone logo to me. It’s simple and feels like a natural evolution.

I think a lighter weight Sans font would work better but I like where you've taken the current logo.

Thanks for your thoughts! Well, by all accounts, it looks like Reith Sans it is! Smile I've also revised BBC Sounds (the initial wordmark, with a few subtle adjustments), and their respective icons:

So with that, here's a closer look at what "iPlayer Channels" is. As I said earlier. It's a collective term for a la carte video services within iPlayer, much like Amazon Channels and Apple TV Channels. I know, it sounds a bit too ambitious for its own good, but here's a selection of what channels could be available at launch:

Opinions are welcome, as usual! Smile

The iPlayer design you've settled on is the best you've come up with for me.

However, in your other new stuff, that's the pre-existing 'SOUNDS' logo, isn't it? Just with your rounded/Reithed 'BBC' above it? Perhaps you could play around with ways of displaying the 'SOUNDS' in your own style?
