Noticed Martin Popplewell on N24 the other morning (wasn't he once part of the ITN C5 news team?). I thought he was quite relaxed and a little more informal than many of the N24 presenters (and clearly excited about the World Cup) - which I think is what a lot of forum users would like to see.

So BBC World now has the new look (News 24 style) style astons. Although tather than the bright red of News 24 they are a deeper red colour - more like the general World red.

Please if anyone from BBC News 24 is reading this, please stop that annoying 'BREAKING NEWS' caption from being typed onto the screen. It was in use again tonight, alternating between 'BREAKING NEWS' and 'BELFAST VIOLENCE' it really irritates and is extremely distracting.

At 10.59, we got about 20 seconds of the headline bed over that blown up caption (not the nice red overnight one). At 11am we had headlines but the bed either ran out or was faded out after the second headline.
