Composer of BBC World Flags and Drums

Hey all,

This isn't a request , but I've been In contact with Joe Glasman of HUM music production ( www.hum.co.uk) and he's confirmed that he was the composer of the Flags and Drums theme for BBC World. I figured I'd let you all know.


HUM also did BBC Four and BBC Sport.

I've updated the BBC News Presentation on Wikipedia too

Not quite - Joe Glasman only composed the BBC World version of the later flags era (1997-2000) music. The News 24 flags era music was composed by Dave Hewson, Alan Coates and Kim Goody ISTR. There's a distinct difference between the two themes if you listen closely.

And the earlier BBC World flags music (1993-97) was composed by David Dundas and Mike Rigg.

The earliest BBC WSTV news music (1991-93) was composed by George Fenton.

Hey, According to Joe's email, which I cannot copy in fully for privacy, says
The HUM website says BBC World, So I'm not sure if Joe or I made a mistake
I sent an Email.

I think he's made a mistake. News 24 definitely wasn't by him - Dave Hewson confirmed this to me himself.

Welp.

I did send Joe the News 24 launch and he confirmed.

But It's probably mainly my mistake!
