Here’s one I’ve not seen before, from the evening of the Kegworth plane crash in 1989, an ITN branded News Report on Channel 4, possibly the closest thing to a normal ITN branded bulletin being broadcast on Channel 4. (From 2:30 in) Obviously, other Flashes/Reports online show that they were Channel 4 News branded.

Two Persil ads from 1999 featuring two future Slater girls. Coincidence?

I can't help but love everything about Kacey's response when she's asked what's so important about Persil's tablets getting to work straight away (besides the fact that it's scripted, of course). Laughing And if anything, the important message appearing at the bottom makes it even better. Wink

An LWT start up from January 1977. Rare enough that early.

But look at the announcer......

Isnt it Ken Bruce?? (Pre Popmaster Very Happy )

Edit- it's not- Barri Haynes is the chap. But almost a doppelganger!

That must have been one of the regular clips that existed in the tape trading circuits back in the 1990s, as I remember a few websites featuring it - nice to get the exact date though.

I’ve always wondered if there was a way to trace back through the generations and find either the original recording or as close to it as possible with some of these - would be great to see them in higher resolution!

I thought I had deja vu, turns out that was posted in this thread in December. Stopped myself from posting this identical thought:

That's been through so many VHS generations that the river ident looks like a watercolour painting. Fascinating to see though.

Surprised to see that very 70s backdrop - they clearly didn't start showing off their shiny new South Bank HQ for a few years after moving in.

(First voice on BBC 2 too according to that article, before it fads away behind a paywall)

Or the plans got mixed up and they built a sauna instead of a continuity studio
Markymark and Night Thoughts gave kudos

Operation Desert Storm gives BBC 1's schedule a bit of a kicking, as well as the CA's introduction to Neighbours.

Surprised me too. Unless Barri did the 'You're watching test transmissions for BBC 2' announcements in the days leading up?

Paul Coia did those for C4, as well as the opening CA, so he's credited as the first voice on C4

I would have thought that Paul Coia gets that credit for the CA rather than the test transmissions.

Maybe Barri did the CA into Play School the following morning?
