As of February 11th, channels operated by ITV Digital Channels Ltd, which is all of the ITV spin-off channels have been moved behind the paywall and can be accessed on the basic pay tier at £6.99pm.

CNNi and QVC have also been removed.

So, that's all the BBC and ITV channels gone for free?

BBC channels are free depending on the platform. Some devices now make you watch BBC channels via iPlayer instead. ITV is still FTA on TVPlayer, the rest are now pay channels.

ITV's channels are still free on the ITV Hub.

Also, CNN and QVC were removed as well.

TVPlayer seems to be not doing too good on the grand scheme of things.

How can they say they aren't charging for Freeview channels when they're doing just that by forcing people to get their subscription packages in order to view ITV's multichannels through the service?

ITV2, 3, 4, Be and CITV aren't PSB's, so ITV Digital Channels Ltd can go to providers and say we want 'x amount' for you to stream our channels or go behind the paywall so that they can be monitised to keep them on the platform.

It's no different to having 2-4 HD behind the paywall on Sky and Virgin, Be has a HD exclusivity deal with Virgin. In this case it appears that considering TVPlayer's small customer base, it makes good business for ITV to monitise those viewers who may not have access to those channels on Freeview or Freesat where revenue is made from advertising by making TVPlayer customers pay.

I'm sure also if you want to watch FTA channels on Virgin, you have to pay as VM have to pay carriage fees for those channels (except the PSB's).

Turner kids channels are leaving on March 22nd, this is after CNN was removed this month.

The existing kids channels are moving to Premium+, while existing customers can continue to subscribe to the Kids pack.

TV Player blame increased licensing costs for the move of ITV's spin off channels to the paywall.

Hmm. Seems like TVPlayer is starting to struggle with licencing and carriage deals

A tiny bit of good news that I discovered, BBC One and BBC Two are now in 1080p. No change to BBC Four, CBBC, CBeebies and BBC News which are still SD.

Are the 1080p25 or 1080p50 ? Whichever they are they are likely to be 1080i->1080p deinterlaced conversions - as the BBC don't run BBC One and Two in 1080p. (The iPlayer streams are 1080i25->720p50 cross-conversions)

720p50 looks good on my tiny monitor I can’t tell the difference between 720p50 and 1080i25
